James Howard Pierson, 77, of Temperance, Michigan and formerly of Belton, Kentucky joined his parents in heaven on November 11, 2018. Jim was born on July 12, 1941, in Greenville Kentucky. After graduating high school he moved to Ohio and began working at GM Powertrain. Jim was a proud GM employee and worked as a Maintenance Foreman. He retired in 2003 after 42 years of service. He always drove a General Motors vehicle and it was always his favorite color, red. Jim was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed football, basketball and any form of racing. His favorite teams were the Kentucky Wildcats and the Michigan Wolverines. He loved to drag race, snowmobile and was a skilled marksmen. Jim had a passion for classic cars and his beloved 55 Chevy Bel Air, which he drag raced for many years. Jim loved to be outside and was meticulous about his lawn. He loved spending time with friends over an ice cold beer. Jim left this earth on November 11, surrounded by his two children, Tina M. (Jeff) Kern and James H. Pierson Jr. He enjoyed being “Papa” to his four grandchildren Jessica Rose, Geoffrey Paul, Kaia Rose, and Michael James. His grandchildren brought him great joy and he was so proud of each of them. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he is survived by his two sisters Ruby McElwain of Toledo, OH and Sue Moran of Indiana. He was proceeded in death by his loving parents John H. Pierson and Beatrice (Reynolds) Pierson.
Private funeral services were held at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, Temperance, Michigan.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Delaney’s Lounge 309 W Alexis Rd # 3, Toledo, OH 43612 on Wednesday, the 21st of November from 2:00-6:00 pm.
